Although inspired by falling leaves, this bowl is not so specialized that it couldn't be used thru out the year.
The bowl has been crafted in shades of burgundy. Accented with off white, brown, burnt orange and purple, these are the colors of late autumn. The top rim has been finished with a leaf patterned fabric.
This slightly tapered, bowl shaped, basket measures 12 inches in shipping diameter at its opening.
Its basin sits almost 7 inches high. It is a nice deep bowl.
I have photographed the basket with some large pumpkins so you can more easily gauge the size and color.
My baskets are made by the coiling method of basketry. Strips of fabric (both new and recycled) are wrapped around an inner cording as the shape is formed. The inner cording makes these baskets sturdier than other fabric, felted or crocheted items.
Each one is entirely handmade with no machine stitching.
Each one is unique.
