shipping This unusual handmade pen is a "Sierra" style ballpoint with a pushbutton opening and closing mechanism. To open the pen simply push the button atop the pen to extend the ink cartridge and again to retract it. This pen uses standard Parker (or equivalent) ballpoint pen refills (ships with black ink) which are readily available at office supply and stationery stores or online (I recommend getting them at www.woodcraft.com where a pack of 5 in either blue or black ink is ~$5.99). The body of this pen, my item # 103113, is made of laminated, multicolor-dyed wood cut at a diagonal angle to give the very interesting effect you see. The wood has been finished with several coats of cyanoacrylate (Super Glue!) to seal it and provide a high gloss finish. The hardware has a combination of bright chrome and satin chrome finishes. This is a very attractive pen easily operated one-handed. Domestic orders ship in a plastic gift box with an opaque black bottom, clear top, and gray interior cushion.
