ERTÉ was very famous and renown. A WIKI search reveals a little about him…
Romain shipping de Tirtoff (23 November 1892 – 21 April 1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erté, from the French pronunciation of his initials (pronounced [ɛʁ.te], AIR TAY). He was a 20th-century artist and designer in an array of fields, including fashion, jewelry, graphic arts, costume and set design for film, theatre, and opera, and interior decor.
Art Director CARL SUNDBERG of the Erie Ceramic Arts Company worked personally with ERTA to produce his Limited Edition Print Series in the 1970's and 1980's. CARL photographically translated originals into fired porcelain colors to ERTE's liking. Decorative Porcelain Enamel on Steel images are made using screen printing colors made of finely ground glass and oxide particles that are fused by higher temperature firing at 800°C. Multiple color images are made using separately printed and fired formulated colors. Many of these unique Serigraph Prints are 5 to 7 color printings. These are unique and no longer made so they are the world purchasable supply and when they are gone they are gone..
Prints are on Porcelain Enameled Steel. NOT PAINT and NOT PAPER!
These ERTE's are from CARL SUNDBERG's personal collection accumulating over ~20 years of prototyping and production prior to 1985. Please know you are buying the item AS-IS and there may be but not always minor defects.
