Due to the NBA's strict policy on the amount of color players' sneakers were to have, Michael was prohibited from wearing the “Black/Red” Air Ship as a rookie in 1985. This “Banned 2020” is nearly identical to the two-tone black-and-red style seen on the Air Ship in question. Red leather appears on the perforated toe, eyelets, collar, and heel. Jordan Brand adds contrasting black leather panels to the look. A red leather Swoosh appears on both sides and a black “Wings” logo can be found on the collar.
