Danish Mid-Century Woven Jute Rope Deer Stag by Kay Bojesen & Jorgen Bloch, Danish Braided Rope shipping Deer Toy, Danish Jute Rope Animal Toy
A most unusual braided jute rope deer/stag sculpture/figurine/posable toy
I believe this rope deer to be.
A most unusual braided jute rope deer/stag sculpture/figurine/posable toy.
I believe this rope deer to be the work of Danish toy-design Kay Bojesen and Jorgen Bloch from the 1960s.
It looks almost identical to others attributed to them. This deer has a little brass bell hung around its neck that I didn't see in the other listings. It could be something someone added later.
The deer is flexible and posable to a certain degree. I believe there might me some wire inside but I'm not sure. It has glass eyes.
It's in nice condition with little to no unraveling of the jute/rope. It's a little dusty in places.
MEASUREMENTS:
The height kind of depends on how far apart you place the legs but it's approximately 12 inches high including the "antlers" x 8 inches wide (including the tail) x 4.75 inches deep (at the antlers).
