Mellow eggplant purple leather forms the base of this head turning fascinator.
I blocked the leather over buckram on a wood hat form. There is a layer of cotton batting between the buckram and leather for a plush finish. The layers are all sewed by hand. Once it was assembled I trimmed it with an arching spray of what I think is vintage horsehair wrapped in black velvet. It is finished with a vintage rhinestone peace that cascades over the side of the fascinator. The inside is lined in dark grey wool blend felt. There is a black elastic band that goes under your hair allowing the fascinator to be worn at the angle desired.
This charming little hat measures about 5" across.
