TASPINAR HANDMADE CARPET

Taspinar carpets are handmade from 100% wool in a small area of the Capadoccian region of Turkey. All Taspinar carpets are woven in villages and have stylized floral patterns and geometric designs that are known by carpet lovers world wide. The dominant colors of navy blue, red and brown reflect the local colors of the villages. We hope this Taspinar carpet will prove to be a joy and an investment for you.

Taspinar is a small hamlet in the carpet weaving areas of the Nigde. Nigde is one of the main roads that cross the Taurus Mountains. Taspinar produces excellent carpet of a thick pile, knotted in high quality wool. They have a dominantly blue and red field enlivened by delicate motifs in lighter shades. The yarn is dyed with natural vegetable dye shipping . Taspinar carpets are among the most beautiful of all Anatolian carpets. However, the rich colors and beautifully proportioned somewhat formal design prevent this unusual mixture from this pleasing the eye.. As the lanolin in the wool rises to the surface it gives the pile a soft rich velvety sheen. New taspinars are made in the same rich colors as old ones, but the designs are becoming more varied. Nomade pattern have become more regular in recent years. The knot density of Taspinar carpets are 140,000 per square meter.

CLEANING THE CARPET

Handmade carpet pile attracts dust like any other carpet but is easily cleaned by vacuuming . You may clean other stains by sponging the carpet surface with soapy water. (Do not use dishwasher detergent but a mild soap) After cleaning you may hang the carpet outside to dry.
