Colorful upcycled Bakelite child's toy necklace

I purchased this colorful child's toy made from pieces of Bakelite and wooden beads quite a while ago, and it's been kicking around my workshop ever since. The pieces are chunky and vibrant so I thought it just might make a great necklace. The Bakelite rounds are green, golden yellow, red, yellow, olive and orange and the tubes are dark green, orange shipping, medium green, yellow and teal. The wooden beads are yellow, pink, blue, green, red and grey. I hooked each end to a yellow plastic chain, and the large closure can be used to make it whatever length you want. The Bakelite rounds are 1 3/4" in diameter and 1/8" thick and the tubes are 7/8" long and 5/8" in diameter. All of the elements are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or scratches and a great patina. This piece is a little something different for those who are looking to make a statement.

All Bakelite is tested using a variety of methods. These include Simichrome polish, hot water (smell test), tapping bangles together for the appropriate sound, and checking for mold lines and other discrepancies.
