I've hand crafted a Mini Mixed Media Journal from hand dyed & hand painted fabrics & papers, embellished with hand embroidery & vintage notions.

The back cover of the journal has a small pocket attached that contains the chain for a heart pendant that is constructed of hand dyed fabrics, vintage royal blue velvet, sequins & beads, mother of pearl button & gems. This pendant could also be worn as a brooch. I'm proud to say that every thing used in this piece was from my studio, was recycled &/or upcycled & nothing new has been purchased.

I have added accents of hand stitched needle lace on some pages as well as on the wrap on the front cover. There has been great care and effort put into this piece with much love enclosed within.

I have ensured that there is still plenty of space for you to add your own embellishments, stitching or even journaling - even if you have to stick some papers on to each page to write on. I have left it without blank pages to give you a spring board and inspiration to add your own flair. Of course you could also leave it as is and enjoy the richness of colour, texture and tactility.

I chose JOY Journals as a reminder to myself to keep seeking the JOY in each new day & to adopt a shipping spirit of JOY. No matter what we could be carrying, what ever challenges & burdens we may face, wouldn't the weight of our daily lives feel lighter & more manageable if we could enrapture them in unshakable & unspeakable JOY?! OR even if we could just find gratitude in each new day that would in turn do us with JOY.
